first cello life (age 12-25, in and around Munich, Germany)
started playing at age 12
classical training: Bach (of course!), Dotzauer, Lee, Stutschewsky, Kummer, Feulliard, Beethoven, Haydn (and I have a copy of the Dvorak concerto - but were never able to play more than fragments of it)
also some groove/rock/folk-oriented stuff that was written by my first teacher, Joschi Schumann. Unfortunately, he has passed away a few years ago, way too early. He used to self-publish his stuff in the 90's and 00's, wouldn't know where to find it nowadays
I played in a teenage Ska/Reggae/Punkrock band, sometimes cello, sometimes base guitar
I also played in a band called Zebulon - they still exist today, but I lost contact after moving to Austria, and nowadays they have replaced the cello with a double base
relaunch (2022, age 47+, now in Linz, Austria)
after more than 20 years of almost not playing at all
electric cello enabled practice in evening times
it just hangs on a wall in my bedroom and is always at hand. from 0 to practice in <1min -> key for getting myself to practice on a daily basis (although often for just a few minutes)
playing around with effects and looper builds additional motivation
internet resources reveal new inspirations
took several online cello classes/courses to develop my skills towards improvisation and free playing
